Thesis Completion Track
This track is designed for students who hold a non-thesis master's degree and wish to continue to doctoral studies. To be accepted into the doctoral program, candidates must submit a research proposal and write a thesis-equivalent research paper. If the work meets master's thesis standards, it will enable the candidate to be accepted into doctoral studies.
Study requirements until submission of thesis: Completion of core courses only, total: 12 credits.
- Science, Technology and Society (4 credits)
- Philosophical Foundations in Science, Technology and Society (4 credits)
- Introduction to History of Science and Technology: From Antiquity to the Renaissance (2 credits)
- Introduction to History of Science and Technology: From the Renaissance to the 20th Century (2 credits)
Mandatory attendance at the alternating program colloquium and research seminar.
Students may take one elective course or seminar from the program's offerings to extend their credits to 16. Studies beyond 16 credits require clarification of additional costs with the Tuition Office.
As a condition for acceptance to doctoral studies, candidates must submit a research proposal and write a research paper equivalent in scope to a master's thesis.
