תקציר הקורס (להרחבה)

הקורס 'טכנולוגיה ותודעה' חוקר שאלה בסיסית בחקר הטכנולוגיה והמדיה: כיצד מעצבת הטכנולוגיה את התודעה שלנו. הקורס לוקח את הסטודנטים למסע בהיסטוריה של הטכנולוגיה שהוא מסע בהיסטוריה של התודעה ובוחן את האינטראקציות הסבוכות בין טכנולוגיה לתודעה.

 

מטרות/תוצרי הלמידה (להרחבה)

 

ידע 

1. הלומדים יתארו את ההשפעות שיש לסוגים שונים של מדיה על תודעה
2. הלומדים יגדירו את המושגים טכנולוגיה, מדיה, הטיות מדיה, ואפקטים טכנולוגיים
3. הלומדים יכתבו עבודות רפלקציה על השפעת טכנולוגיות שונות בחייהם שלהם ובחיי הסובבים אותם

 

4. מיומנויות 

1. הלומדים ינתחו טכנולוגיות שונות על פי מעגל המדיה (תכונות, הטיות, אפקטים, סביבות)
2. הלומדים יעריכו את ההשפעה החזויה של טכנולוגיות שונות. ואת האופן שבו חוקי המדיה מעצבים את החדירה של טכנולוגיות שונות והשפעתן על החברה והתודעה

ערכים (במידה ורלוונטי) 

1. הלומדים יעצבו תובנות על השפעת המדיה על חיי הנפש והחוויה שלהם
2. הלומדים יפתחו את הערכותיהם הערכיות בנוגע בנוגע לדרך הנכונה לאינטגרציה של טכנולוגיה בחברה ובחייהם
3. הלומדים יפתחו אסטרטגיות למיזעור נזקים והעצמת תועלת במהלך שימוש בטכנולוגיות שונות, בהתאם לערכיהם בשימוש בטכנולגיה

דרישות הקורס

 לאורך השנה ידרשו הסטודנטים להגיש שלוש מטלות קצרות (כעמוד או שניים) של רפלקסיה אישית (מבוססת שאלות מנחות) על טכנולוגיה מסוימת שהקורס עוסק בה ועל מקומה בהבניית תודעה האנושית/בחייהם. כמו כן הסטודנטים יגישו לקראת כל שיעור דו"חות קריאה קצרים עם תגובה קצרה על המאמר.

בסיום הקורס הסטודנטים יגישו עבודה באורך של 8-15 עמ' (2800-5000 מילה). העבודה תעסוק באחת מהטכנולוגיות שנידונו בקורס או בטכנולוגיה אחרת ותציע חקירה של האופן שאותה טכנולוגיה משתתפת בהבניית התודעה האנושית באמצעות שימוש בתיאוריות וכלים מתחום ה-STS, אקולוגיית המדיה, או זוויות היסטוריות/סוציולוגיות/תרבותיות אחרות
